Mauterndorf castle

Hohenwerfen castle
Hohenwerfen castle, originating in the 11th century, doesn't bear the name "adventure castle" for nothing. Changing special exhibitions, the weapons' collection, and tours of the historical falconry are among the highlights of a visit to the castle.

Rossbrandhütte
The Rossbrand (1,768 m) is justifiably considered one of the most beautiful scenic mountains in the eastern Alps, the summit affording a 360° panorama of almost 150 striking Alpine peaks. There is also bus service to the Rossbrand.

Salt mine
Salt was once known as "white gold": and in fact, the deposits which formed in Dürrnberg bei Hallein millions of years ago truly did represent a treasure trove for the region. As far back as 2,500 years ago, the Celts mined this valuable gift from the mountain, as shown by the impressive traces they left behind.
Dachstein Ice Palace- Dachstein glacier- Dachstein Sky Walk
On a tour deep in the glacier, attractions such as the "throne room", the "crystal dome", the "blue salon" and other fascinating nooks and crannies are awaiting you.
The Dachstein mountain is a gigantic, prehistoric coral reef, now almost 3,000 m above sea level. At sunset on the Dachstein glacier, the Dachstein Sky Walk is an impressive natural spectacle with exceptional charm all its own.
